Since our last episode....

Yeah, not much has happened.  Still pregnant!  Getting bigger every day!

Well, not really.  I've actually LOST a pound since my last appt.  I'm eating, I swear.  There's just less room for food these days.  Likewise, I can't sleep on my back.  It makes it so I can't breathe.  Oxygen is kind of important, you know?  Plus the burning ligament of doom.  Right in my crotch.  Yeah, this guy can be born.  I am DONE.

I think I've got the diapering down.  I've been making a lot, and I got my 2 doz prefolds on Christmas Eve. I washed them and they're nice.  Not exactly what I was expecting but.... well, I have no idea what I was expecting.  But I like them.  They're nice and thick.  I'm waiting on some infant ones from a Raveler, and I'll make some soakers from the terry I have.  I got my snap press today and made a GREAT diaper.  It's a pocket with grey velour on the inside, a one-size.  I think it's a little small, but whatever.  It'll work.

I had more to say.  I'll give a Christmas rundown later.  This was really the best Christmas we've had in a long time.  My husband is amazing and my kids are awesome.  Even when they're super loud.

28 Weeks

I've officially hit the third trimester!

And I'm not as big as I thought I was.  The midwife I saw today was pretty impressed with how I managed to not gain any weight over the holiday.  Well- a pound.  But it's not crazy like I guess it is for a lot of people.  I still have 12 weeks to go, which means Capt Jack is going to gain +/- 6lbs.  That means I gain about the same.  I think I'm ok with that.  It'll probably be a leeeetle more, but that's how pregnancy goes.

We're slowly getting everything together for him.  I have a couple carriers, we have a mini Pack N Play for next to the bed, my mom and Amber have given us clothes and I'm working on the diapers.  I just ordered 2 doz prefolds today, and I'm getting 15 more from a destash.  Really, all we need is the carseat and a Boppy and we'll have the minimum we need to bring him home.  Even the Boppy isn't absolutely necessary.  I could make one and it'd be fine.  I'm kind of waiting for my shower.  I know that sounds terrible, but I don't want to double up on anything.  I hate having to return stuff.

Speaking of making things, I'm still waiting for my fabric from Joann's.  I need to make the girls' their pj pants.  We're wicked behind in Christmas shopping.  We've kind of put it off.  Now it's a week away.  Ooops.  I think we'll do ok, though.  Christmases aren't huge deals with us.  We much prefer to to spend them together enjoying each other than with a bunch of gifts.  :)

Yay, I've hit 100!

100 posts on this blog that is.  And nope- no giveaways, presents or anything cool.  Instead we talk about diapers.

I think I have everything I need to make Capt Jack's diaper stash.  The last of the flannel is on its way, and I got my huge box from  I'm getting a bunch of prefolds from someone on Rav, which will work for a variety of things.  I just need to get cutting and sewing.  Oh, and I need to order snap pliers.  That may wait till next paycheck, though.  We'll see.  I probably need to knit some more soakers, too, but I'm waiting for the pattern I test knit to be finished so I can do larger sizes.  I don't want to do too many small ones, since I know Anne is making me some (Dr Who themes, FTMFW!).

I really want to start getting baby stuff, but I don't know what people are getting for my shower.  Plus my parents will want to get him something, and they usually get the big stuff.  I don't want to ask, but I may have to.  All we really need is the carseat, Pack N Play and a place for him to sleep upstairs, and maybe a few more shirts and sleepers.  The rest is just extra.  Nice to have, but extra.

Ennui, I has it

Well, sort of.

Today was an odd day.  Justin got up with the girls, but his new meds made him sleepy.  So he passed out on the couch after putting a call into his doc to make sure he wasn't dying (he's not- it's a normal side effect).  I came downstairs to find him snoring on the couch, and joined him.  Took Maddie lunch, then went over to the GS hale to get her vest and stuff.  Justin came with.  Went to the mall, ran into my friend Sunny, got some moisturizer.  Justin was out of it most of the day.

We got home and fully planned on grocery shopping.  I had a headache that turned into a migraine rather quickly.  So I passed out on the couch with a heat pack on my eyes, where I apparently snored VERY loudly and had weird Star Trek dreams (I had ST:TNG on the TV.  I think it bled through).  Woke up to Justin bringing me pizza.  I love that man.

That's been what this week has been like.  Weird.  Busy in spurts.  We spent all Monday morning at Tripler, since Justin had an appt with a new psych to get his meds straightened out then his vasectomy was at 10:30.  WOOHOO!  That's right, ladies, his factory is SHUT DOWN.  After Capt Jack Blueberry Hulk is born, there will be no more babies from us.  While we were there, we got a call from Travis that Darcee was in labor.  Luckily Amber was able to watch Annika- I just had to pick her up and take her to school.  :)  Justin didn't even want our children around, much less anyone else's.  He's still really sore.

So I've spent the last few days babying him, picking up children, taking them places, and running errands.  I did get to go see the baby, an she's a-dorable.  I really was hoping to get some sewing done.  I did make it to Fabric Mart yesterday and got the thread for my serger.  I got that threaded (on the second try!  I am awesome.  Or my serger is easy to thread.  I think it's a combo of both) and practiced on it a bit.  Now I just need to sketch some stuff out and dig through my fabric.  I think I might start with some bags for the girls to use for GS.  Then I'll move on to pj's and diapers.

Tomorrow is wicked busy.  Maddie has her GS cookie walk in the afternoon.  I have to go because Justin's balls are still sore.  They're not so bad he can't walk anymore, but still pretty sore if he walks too much.  I may sew on Sun.  Or Monday.  We'll see.

I'm hoping next week settles a bit.
